Tampon to heads with legs to follow

Not too much to report this week. Heads sewn on the tampons and a few legs, feet and goggles made. So much snow and family this week - didn't get much done. Hope to get more done and another snowbug..which is very slow moving. Those good ideas I thought were so good..were in my head and should have stayed there. Won't give up - love bug!

Bye for now.

Blizzard weekend or 16 heads, spider, web and a bug and a half

Well, had a fun week-end planned with the girls and a lot of clay - but another weekend of snow and wind - no girls, just clay. With the house cleaned (as good as it was goina get), and food cooked for the weekend, I spent the last 2 days playing by myself! Production was had - 16 heads, 1 spider with web (for "Grown Accustom To My Cage" piece - will show later) and 1.5 snowbugs completed....AND...AND....new ideas pondered and drawn in the "book" ready for another blizzard which is Tuesday I believe according to the local weather man....who doesn’t know Sh*t for Shinola these days. Oh well - 'tis the season of snow followed by the great floods of April. I’ll just keep my feet up and my clay dry. Till next time - Bye. Thanks for lookin’ in.

Snowbug

2nd day out on the blog journey...and the training wheels are off! What fun. Today I was visiting with a young lady and she was explaining a picture she had of her “camp” experience at her elementary school. Now it is winter here...LOTS O SNOW, and it made me think camping...bugs....snowbug! So the challenge is on. At the end of Feb. we will reveal our snowbugs. If you’re reading this out there...anyone else up for the challenge?

Fairy God Boys

Here are samples of some of my 1st bag dolls.
They are disheveled Fairy God Boys for my twin nephews - who are now 5. Their wings are silk plant leaves and jeans are made from vintage aunt pants and shirts are flannel fishing and hunting design. Holey socks/feet, hands and head are made from a custom mix of polymer clay. I tried to make them sturdy enough for the boys to hold and gently play with. I welcome any suggestions or ideas you have.

Blog Virgin

Well, here goes, 1st time out and feeling a bit apprehensive. I am a practicing art doll maker with the emphasis on practicing. Currently I’ve been trying to hone my skill on small bag dolls. Love their plasticity - if I get them sewn and stuffed correctly. Brings me back to childhood. My few attempts at designing my own pattern have gone OK, but working for "great"! If you are an art doll artist, I would love to hear from you. And if your just interested in quirky art dolls, I would love to hear from you. Remeber - be gentle..blog virgin.
